The College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters in the Behavioral Sciences Department is seeking a passionate and engaged student to serve as Student Ambassador.  The ideal candidate will be a dynamic outgoing, and responsible student who is eager to promote the college and its programs at various events, assist in event management, and communicate with prospective and new students. The candidate must be a major or have a minor in one of the following programs: psychology, sociology, anthropology, BBS or CLCJ (other candidates will not be considered).

Responsibilities: 

• Attend CASL and university promotional events.
• Participate in CASL Welcome Week, as well as other CASL and Behavioral Sciences department activities, acting as a friendly, welcoming face for new students
• Speak about the program to prospective students. 
• Support in preparing event materials, including the creation of flyers and invitations.
• Assist in improving and updating program publicity materials, including bulletin boards, websites, social media, and newsletters.
• Outreach to prospective and admitted students through various communication channels.
• Assist faculty in organizing department-based events.
• Conduct CASL building tours, showcasing labs and studios to prospective and admitted students. 
• Attend regular meetings with the CASL staff team. 

This is a limited temporary appointment.  The weekly hours will vary, between 5-10 hours per week.

This job requires: 

• Active student enrolled at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. 
• Must be a major in or have a minor in one of the following fields: Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, BBS (Behavioral & Biological Sciences), or CLCJ (Criminology, Law & Criminal Justice) 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. 
• Knowledge of CASL programs and activities 
• Knowledge of and interest in one or more of Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, BBS and CLCJ 
• Willingness to commit to a full academic year of work (Fall and Winter semesters).  
• Availability to work during Welcome Week and other major events.

Flexible availability (open to working during Welcome Week and other major events for the department/college).
