Job Summary

 

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused temporary employee to provide technical support for an MWS rollout. The technician will prepare and deploy Windows and Mac workstations, assist end users during device transitions, and maintain accurate deployment documentation.
 

Responsibilities*

 
  • Prepare, configure, and deploy Windows and Mac computers.
  • Install approved software.
  • Assist users with device setup, login, and basic technical questions.
  • Support data-transfer and workstation-replacement activities.
  • Perform basic account and device-related tasks using established procedures.
  • Update device inventories, deployment records, and support tickets.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate technical team.
  • Follow organizational standards for security, privacy, accessibility, and asset management.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to faculty, staff, and other users.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Comfortable working in both Windows and macOS environments.
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow technical procedures and document completed work accurately.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to move and set up computer equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Previous help desk, desktop support, or computer deployment experience.
  • Familiarity with account management, software installation, or device inventory systems.
  • Experience with workstation deployment, account administration, data migration, or endpoint-management tools
  • Familiarity with ticketing and IT asset-management systems.

Modes of Work

 

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Work Schedule

 

Approximately 20-40 hours per week.  Work during normal business hours.
