The UMSN invites applications for full-time, University-year, 9-month Clinical Instructor positions beginning January 2027. We seek expert clinicians interested in an integrated role of teaching, clinical practice, service, and scholarly endeavors. Specifically, these individuals will teach in the Undergraduate Nursing Program (BSN) aligned with their area of expertise (e.g., Medical-Surgical, Population Health, Perinatal Health or Reproductive Health, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health) and will provide excellence in clinical education. A successful candidate will engage in nursing practice (minimum of 20% FTE) within their respective specialty area and guide students through scholarly endeavors aimed at improving outcomes and practice. Their nursing practice expertise will aid in curriculum development and inform teaching-related practices.
All undergraduate nursing courses are delivered in person, which may require travel throughout southeast Michigan. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in clinical nursing education, healthcare delivery, and undergraduate student mentorship. Preference will be given to applicants with active clinical engagement and a passion for integrating practice, teaching, service, and scholarship.
