CGHE works to advance research, education, policy, innovation, and partnerships that can positively impact individuals and communities in low-resource settings. The Center supports collaborative initiatives involving U-M faculty, international partners, students, and external stakeholders, with a focus on measurable impact, equitable partnerships, and sustainable solutions. 

The Center is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Intermediate Manager who will manage the Center's internal grants programs, including monitoring the progress of awarded projects; help to advance the Center's new and emerging initiatives focused on India; provide support for CGHE's Climate, Vulnerability and Health member community; and advise Center Leadership on the alignment of membership resources with core services, signature funding programs, and educational and research opportunities that support a diverse group of U-M faculty members. Working in collaboration with the Yamada Director, Associate Director for Research, and Senior Manager for Strategic Integration, this individual will support and lead efforts to design, develop, and evaluate initiatives that are conceptualized through collaborative efforts of U-M faculty, international partners, and external stakeholders. Strong emphasis will be placed on developing tactics to measure and report on the impact these initiatives make on the lives of the most vulnerable people worldwide.

Research Program Management (50%)

• Collaborate with the CGHE Faculty Associate Director for Research.
• Link interdisciplinary groups of faculty and global partners for grant proposals. 
• Meet with prospective applicants and review draft proposals. 
• Lead application review process in collaboration with CGHE Associate Director for Research, and other members of CGHE leadership.
• Plan and pitch presentations for applicant teams to enable CGHE leadership review and expert reviewers? input.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and draft correspondence related to internal grants.
• Manage kickoff, check-in, and closing team meetings.
• Ensure compliance with U-M's guidelines (i.e., Infoready system).
• Troubleshoot delays and/or adjustments to timelines.
• Collaborate with other CGHE leadership and staff on cross-cutting programmatic elements (i.e. Data Collaborative).

 
Faculty-led Member Community Management (15%)

• Collaborate with CGHE's Climate, Vulnerability and Health member community.
• Cultivate interdisciplinary collaborations, both within and outside of the University, to help advance and enhance the work in the faculty-led member community.
• Cultivate cross-campus relationships and serve as a primary point of contact for faculty members leading existing projects or seeking to launch educational and training initiatives.
• Assist leadership in conducting member community meetings.
• Prepare project proposals and presentations for leadership.

CGHE Membership Management (15%) 

• Benchmark membership and benefit programs for global health across the U-M and selected peer institutions.
• Collaborate with other CGHE staff on efforts to optimize member engagement, which could include new member orientations, networking events, seminar series, member recognition opportunities, tactics to promote member accomplishments, and other efforts that engender a sense of connection for the member to the Center.
• Develop and implement outreach strategies for membership recruitment, including U-M faculty, U-M scholars and trainees, global collaborators, and professional staff.
• Collaborate with other CGHE staff to maintain and enhance the Center's membership database and collection of online member profiles. 
• Coordinate annual timeline and process for membership review and renewal.
• Collaborate with other CGHE staff to create membership reports, highlighting member activities, demographics, and overall engagement with the Center.

CGHE Interest Group and/or Initiative Management (10%)

• Collaborate with U-M faculty to cultivate interdisciplinary collaborations and guide interest group/initiative development.
• Manage projects and programs relevant to CGHE interest group and/or initiative.
• Interface with U-M and global partners to ensure smooth implementation and identify when changes need to be made.
• Conduct project meetings, track and analyze project progress; report on progress to Center leadership.
• Provide tactical administrative and project support to faculty leaders.
• Prepare progress reports for partners and funders as needed.
• Support dialogue and education between NGOs, academia, and government offices to ensure effective and efficient policy engagement.

Additional Responsibilities (10%)

• Develop and oversee project budgets.
• Participate in regular cadence of CGHE staff and leadership meetings.
• Collaborate with other CGHE staff to assist with ongoing CGHE programming (i.e., yearly community event, External Advisory Board Meeting, etc).
• If/as needed, willingness to engage in a flexible work schedule to attend early morning meetings and/or late meetings and events.
• Other responsibilities and/or projects as assigned.
   

• Master's degree in public health, public policy, social work, or other related field, and five years or more of professional experience.
• Previous experience developing and maintaining institutional and/or community partnerships in Low- or Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to effectively manage numerous projects, simultaneously and in various stages of development, with close attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze, compare, and evaluate various courses of action and make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of job responsibilities; ability to manage multiple and competing priorities; and appropriately determine when to ask questions or ask for help.
• Must have strong integrity, be highly proactive, have a high degree of problem-solving skills, be highly reliable, retain a sense of ownership and accountability for workload, be flexible and resilient, provide excellent customer service, and possess expert follow-up skills.
• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with students and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds, both within the United States and globally.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with and build professional relationships with all individuals at all levels; appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Proficient computer skills are essential, including demonstrated proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe PDFs, survey tools such as Qualtrics and Google Forms, and Zoom.
• Must be productive and flexible under pressure and able to meet deadlines.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

This position is eligible for flexible (i.e., hybrid) work arrangements requiring a minimum of three days/week in the office. The Center's offices are located on north campus in NCRC Building 100. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change based on the business needs of the hiring department throughout the course of employment. In addition to the regular in-office workdays/hours, there will be additional times, some early morning and/or evening hours, that require working on-site for events and/or remotely for Zoom meetings.

The final salary will be based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
