• Provide tutorial assistance to students.
• Encourage student participation in tutoring.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and participation.
• Refer students to other avenues of support. 
• Participate in Tutorial Services orientation and meetings.
• Respond to all inquiries in a timely fashion.
• May include development of instructional materials and assisting with workshops
• Represent the office and University in a respectful and professional manner

? Tutors must be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people and be able to empathize with diversity.
? Tutors must be patient, flexible and able to adjust to various situations they encounter.
? Strong communication and organization skills a must.
? Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
? Working knowledge of common UM tools, such as the Google Apps (Drive, Gmail, Docs), Canvas, Zoom, and Dropbox
? Eagerness to learn new software programs
? Ability to work independently with high efficiency and productivity, including setting and monitoring own work hours
 

Applicants should be able to work the entire academic year. 

Applicants should be familiar with:

• MATLAB
• Adobe Creative Suite
• MAC and Windows operating systems

• Develop and enhance leadership, coaching, facilitation, tutoring, and mentoring skills
• Assist with potential workshops for students
• Learn and use new interactive technology tools critical in today's workplace
• Develop public speaking, time management, and helping skills
