The UM-Dearborn Wolverine Media Network (WMN) is the umbrella organization overseeing the Campus Video Network, the Lyceum Fine Arts Journal, the Michigan Journal, and WUMD College Radio. WMN is committed to creating spaces for students to learn and create together in an environment that values human-made art and collaborative multimedia production.

Job Summary

 

WUMD DJs create and perform musical content for live events on UM-Dearborn?s campus as contracted by student organizations and campus units.
This position is for a UM-Dearborn student who is enrolled at least part-time and is available to work nights and weekends. Hours available vary based on WUMD?s service request schedule with busy season being in early to mid-Fall and Winter semesters.
 

Responsibilities*

 
  • Create audio content for live events based on client requests and desired event atmosphere
  • Perform live at contracted events on behalf of WUMD College Radio, demonstrating showmanship and professionalism
  • Perform setup and teardown of equipment for contracted events
  • Meet with clients as needed in preparation for events
  • Represent WUMD College Radio and the Wolverine Media network positively
  • Promote WUMD College Radio and the Wolverine Media Network services and initiatives at events
     

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Enrolled at least part-time as a UM-Dearborn student
  • Must be able to work in a sitting or standing position
  • Must be able to lift equipment up to 40lbs
  • Must have a flexible work schedule and be able to work some nights and weekends
     

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Preference will be given to those candidates who will be enrolled through the WI27 semester
  • Federal Work Study Eligible
