CTO Strategic & Operational Leadership- Works under the CTO Medical Director to set strategic direction for the CTO, drive process improvements across departments, and manage high-level relationships with Program Directors, Medical School, and Hospital partners. Provides direct supervision of the Multisite Manager and Finance Manager, with oversight of regulatory, data management, and quality assurance functions. Ensures compliance with NCI CCSG guidelines and leads completion of relevant CCSG application sections while fostering high faculty satisfaction and staff engagement.
CTO IT Strategy & Systems- Works under the Cancer Center Chief Informatics Officer to represent CTO interests in institutional clinical research IT initiatives and advance an integrated infrastructure platform. Chairs the CTMS governance committee and provides priority guidance on system maintenance, configuration, and integration. Directly supervises the CTO-IT team in the development, configuration, and maintenance of key applications (public website, RETA, CERVANT, myCTO, eCRFs, and related databases)
Financial & Administrative Direction- Works under the Chief Administrative Officer to provide efficient, cost-effective financial and administrative leadership for the CTO and cancer clinical research enterprise. Oversees budgeting, cost containment, strategic planning, and lean process improvement, with direct supervision of the Finance Manager and responsibility for accurate monitoring of salaries, expenses, and charge capture. Ensures strong collaboration with key department users of CTO services
Clinical Research Group (CRG) Operations- Works under the Associate Director for Clinical Research to drive operational improvements across Research Nursing/Coordinators, the Ravitz Clinical Research Unit, and the Translational Research Lab. Collaborates with Nursing Managers on cross-functional process improvements and partners with the Finance Manager on financial oversight of these units. Serves as a member of the Ravitz Oversight Committee.
Cancer Center Leadership & Strategy- Works under the Associate Director for Clinical Research (with support from the Chief Administrative Officer) to lead planning and project management for operational changes that advance the Cancer Center's clinical research strategy and vision. Establishes and monitors key performance metrics (trial activation times, financial collection, engagement, user satisfaction, protocol deviations) and implements decisions that support these goals. Builds external and internal partnerships, benchmarks with peer centers, and represents Cancer Center interests with entities such as MICHR, IRBMed, ORSP, and research pharmacy.
