Job Summary

 

This is a contingent/PRN position on the Medical-Surgical Acute Care team. The employee filling this position will be scheduled on an as-needed basis. 

Responsibilities*

 
  • Evaluate and treat patients with diseases, injuries, disorders, and disabilities using physical modalities and exercises.
  • Interpret prescriptions and develop treatment plans.
  • Instruct patients in home exercise programs.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and completion of a clinical internship are necessary.
  • A current Michigan Physical Therapy license is necessary. 
  • This Classification requires registration, certification, or licensure with the appropriate agency as identified on the Primary Source Verification Matrix.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Master's or DPT degree in physical therapy. 

Modes of Work

 

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Work Schedule

 

The schedule may include both weekends and weekdays. 

Background Screening

 

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
