The Department of Mathematics in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan seeks applicants for a Lecturer I Fall 2026 position to begin August 25, 2026 through December 31, 2026. The appointment is subject to final approval by the college.

A typical full-time (100% effort) load for a Lecturer I in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts is three courses per semester. This Lecturer I position could teach anywhere from one to three courses in the Fall semester for a 33.33% effort up to possibly 100% effort.  This will be completely dependent on departmental teaching needs.

Duties of these Lecturer I positions are expected to include teaching, developing course materials, evaluating and grading students, and holding regularly scheduled office hours.

Course Titles: Math 105, Math 115, and/or Math 116

Qualified candidates will have substantial experience teaching mathematics at the collegiate level. Criteria for selection include excellence in classroom teaching, and the ability to work productively with faculty and staff in our department.
