The Surgical Specialties #1 Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager is responsible for the direct managerial oversight of a clinical advanced practice provider (APP) team to include inpatient/outpatient adult and pediatric Physician Assistants (PA) and Nurse Practitioners (NP) within the Departments of Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Urology, and OB/GYN. Oversees operations of the teams including clinical practice, staffing, staff development, strategic planning, quality assurance, and administration of activities and personnel that span inpatient and outpatient clinical operations. Develops, implements, and monitors patient care and revenue-generating departmental programs for APP teams while committing to work in their designated department/service regularly as a staff provider. The APP manager will foster a positive work environment for APPs and ensure a high-quality of service provided to patients, while exemplifying the Michigan Medicine values of caring, innovation, inclusion, integrity and teamwork.
Note: This is a 40-hour position and may include off shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by the service. This position will provide leadership to all APPs within designated areas and potential for expansion of role to include other APP teams as determined by needs of the APP structure and determined by APP Directors.
