Position Overview: 
This position is a member of the Ambulatory Care Project Management Office. The primary objective of this role is to enable the vision, mission, and values of Michigan Medicine, as well as help to effectively develop, drive and support organizational and/or initiative change management strategy within the complex, dynamic environment of the health system. The individual must have the skill set and experience to enable them to operate with wide discretion and independent judgment in our highly complex and matrixed environment.

Strategic Initiatives: 
Accountability for designing, implementing and evaluating systems impacted by strategic initiatives; assist with the development and implementation of short- and long-term tactics. This individual will contribute with the goal of enhancing the effectiveness of initiatives, standardizing tools, templates, mechanisms and methodologies that will ultimately deliver more value with lower costs. This will include monitoring progress and performance against the project plan, identifying and resolving operational problems, and minimizing delays.

1. High-level administrative coordination and facilitation of strategic initiatives within Ambulatory Care.  
2. Maintains relationships and collaborates closely with leaders across the institution to advance Ambulatory Care initiatives.  
3. Provide leadership /consultation/ advisement regarding organizational alignment strategies, communication and change management strategies and integration of systems management structure through to execution. 
4. Prepares and/or analyzes proposals on complex initiatives, making recommendations, action plans and implementing as appropriate.
5. Supports Leadership in the planning process including development and implementation of the resulting short- and long-term strategies, policies, procedures, practices, and programs.
6. Manages programs and/or projects to enhance strategic initiatives. Plans, implements, and evaluates specific projects designed to enhance system effectiveness. Participates in the design, implementation, and evaluation of defined programs to promote attainment of system goals.
7. Synthesizes large quantities of data and information to support succinct communications to influence decision-making and inform broad audiences.
8. Works with peer groups to identify and recommend fiscal, material, and human resource requirements for specific project/programs.  
9. Develops and maintains a strong knowledge of strategic priority areas to enable independent handling of appropriate matters. 
10. Coordinates, reviews, and summarizes relevant literature sources and briefing requests as assigned. 
11. All other duties as assigned.

1. Master's degree in health services administration, healthcare, business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
2. Progressive leadership experience in healthcare with experience in understanding clinical work and workflows.
3. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, as demonstrated by the ability to work effectively with administrative partners, faculty, staff and individuals, and/or teams, across disciplines and the organization.
4. Strategic, systems based thinking with the ability to apply this leadership across the organization.
5. Ability to identify problems and develop solutions, prioritize workload, manage deadlines and organize workflow in a multi- layered matrixed environment.
6. Demonstrated problem solving, influence and conflict resolution skills.
7. Demonstrated leadership in project management and continuous improvement strategies.
8. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse, interdisciplinary teams, and represent the mission of the organization.
9. A high degree of creativity, initiative, and resourcefulness. 
10. Solid independent judgement and self- motivation.
