Key Responsibilities
Project and Team Management
- Own projects from concept through delivery. Manage timelines, document requirements, estimate and adjust sprints, and allocate resources.
- Oversee resource allocation, delivery schedules, marketing plans, and licensing partner relationships.
- Support cross-functional teams across Data Science, Engineering, Clinical Research, Marketing, and Commercialization to build license-ready machine learning models and medical devices on time and on budget.
- Prototype applications and tools with Data Science and Engineering. Track model development, clear technical roadblocks, and navigate Michigan Medicine's research landscape on their behalf.
- Act as project manager for critical care innovation initiatives funded through Weil Institute project grants.
- Partner with Communications on outbound messaging and collateral, including solution sheets, brochures, and web pages.
Product Strategy and Market Definition
- Own the product suite end-to-end. Drive the translational work that turns grant-funded research into commercial products.
- Educate internal teams and leadership on product features, benefits, and target markets.
- Collaborate with other core units to secure sponsored research and donor funding for product development.
- Serve as the go-to expert for every product in the Weil Institute portfolio.
- Report product updates, milestones, and strategic opportunities to leadership.
Grand Challenge Oversight
The Weil Institute runs two Grand Challenges that distribute donor research dollars to high-risk, high-impact critical care projects. Each Grand Challenge aims to bring products to market faster and help teams secure external seed funding.
- Oversee and distribute awardee funding with the Finance team.
- Collect and review quarterly progress reports from award teams.
- Produce quarterly research updates for donors.
- Create Grand Challenge guidance documents.
