Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced researcher in Hematology/Oncology. This Research Investigator position will support Dr. Sofia Merajver's cancer research program, with a focus on tracking tumor heterogeneity in brain metastases and developing strategies to inhibit the ALK fusion oncogene in ALK-positive lung cancer. The ideal candidate will establish and advance an independent research program by designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, preparing manuscripts, publishing and presenting results, contributing to grant applications, and teaching or supervising students, lab personnel, and fellows in a laboratory setting, with opportunities for academic advancement within a mentored research program.

Required Qualifications*

Applicants should hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in molecular and cellular biology, cancer biology, oncology, or a related field, with postdoctoral experience in cancer biology or translational oncology. Candidates should have expertise relevant to brain metastasis, tumor heterogeneity, oncogene-driven lung cancer, and/or therapeutic resistance, particularly in ALK fusion-positive lung cancer. Applicants should demonstrate scholarly productivity through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and collaborative research contributions, as well as experience with molecular biology techniques, tumor models, sequencing- or microscopy-based analyses, and scientific writing. Strong communication, critical thinking, project leadership, and teamwork skills are required.
