The role leads the planning, growth, and day-to-day oversight of the research program in partnership with Structural Heart Directors and the Interventional Cardiology Section Chief. It evaluates clinical trial feasibility, coordinates with other departments to streamline services, monitors program performance, and helps execute strategic growth plans for the research portfolio.

This position also manages sponsor and CRO relationships, serving as the primary escalation point for concerns and participating in sponsor selection visits. In addition, it reviews study budgets, ensures financial viability, monitors revenue and enrollment, oversees regulatory and quality compliance, and supervises research staff to maintain accountability and support professional development.
 

• Strategic program oversight, working with Structural Heart Directors and Interventional Cardiology Director to develop and execute strategic growth plans for the research programs.  Evaluate feasibility for clinical trials, work with other departments to streamline services, and monitor program performance. 
• Financial and contract oversight. Review and approve study budgets with CTSU, ensure financial viability of studies, monitor revenue and enrollment performance, and identify opportunities to optimize study profitability. 
• Sponsor and CRO Relationship Management. Serve as primary escalation point for and manage relationships with sponsors and CROs. Participate in sponsor selection visits. Resolve performance and compliance concerns. 
• Regulatory and Quality Oversight. Ensure compliance with agency guidelines and institutional policies. Oversee audit readiness and corrective action implementation. Provide executive oversight of CAPA processes. 
• Leadership and Team Development. Directly supervise Clinical Research Supervisor and Interventional Cardiology CRCs. Conduct performance reviews, support career development and promotion a culture of accountability, professionalism, and collaboration.

• Bachelors degree.
• 5 years of progressively responsible clinical research administration.
• Demonstrated success managing complex existing operations and building strategic initiatives from the ground up. 
• Proven track record leading large-scale initiatives within and beyond a matrixed organization.
• Demonstrated strength in strategic thinking, operational execution and change leadership.
• Credible, confident, and decisive leader able to influence across disciplines.

• Masters Degree
• Experience in direct management
