Job Summary

 

This position provides supporting patient care to patients that undergo an MRI exam within Michigan Medicine.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Provide routine paramedical, clerical & technical assistance related to MRI procedures including

     

  • Reviewing the Safety Questionnaire with the patient and assisting the patient into hospital appointed attire, for safe scanning. If applicable, the PCTA will place an IV prior to their study.

     

  • Using Epic (EMR), the PCTA will communicate with the team through Snapboard, check in patients (When needed), and answer MRI Safety Questionnaires.

     

  • Scanner assignments will be used to divide the workload between the number of PCTAs scheduled for that day.

     

  • PCTAs are responsible for a clean and stocked work area at all times.

     

  • Train newer staff to meet the department requirements.

Required Qualifications*

 

High school diploma or equivalent. 

 

Desired Qualifications*

 

Maintain BLS card

Worked within a large operation that covers multiple sites.

IV, blood draw experience is a desired requirement, but it can be taught upon hiring.

Work Schedule

 

Hours and Days: Saturday and Sunday 7pm-7am

 

Scheduling Flexibility: The department makes every effort to provide consistent schedules; however, shifts and schedules may be adjusted as necessary to meet patient care and operational requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs.

Ability to be in stationary position (sitting or standing) up to 80% of the time.

Background Screening
