Purpose of Position:
To assist the Senior Nursing Director in planning and management of adult infusion patient care services. To provide professional nursing leadership and administrative direction for nursing practice for Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, and, as indicated, for other assistive personnel. To participate as an active member of the leadership team in the applicable clinics, providing daily assessment of nursing and medical assistant work, facilitating continuous improvement of health care services, and transition care towards the mission and goals of the University of Michigan Health. To ensure the quality of nursing services provided to patients.
Organizational Relationships:
Supervision Received: Administratively responsible to the Senior Nursing Director, Troy Medical Campus, for nursing and clinical practice, clinical workflows, administration of applicable collective bargaining agreements, and provision of operational leadership. Works collaboratively with all members of the leadership teams of multiple departments/services.
Supervision Exercised:
Responsible for professional practice and clinical competence for regular and temporary Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Medical Assistants. Works collaboratively with the clinic management teams in the management of support staff.
