The Periop & Procedural Clinical Nursing Director (CND) will support clinical operations at a high level within the operating rooms, prep/recovery, diagnostic radiology & recovery, and interventional radiology areas at the Troy Medical Campus.
The CND provides professional nursing leadership and administrative direction for nursing practice for nurses, including Clinical Nurse Supervisor, RNs, LPNs, and PCTs. This includes staff development programs and unit orientation to ensure compliance with practice standards, identifying and resolving operational problems, and representing the assigned units on clinical area and hospital committees, maintaining compliance with Federal and State regulations, safety, and patient care. This individual participates as a member of the Troy leadership team and collaborates with like areas, to include ORs, PACUs, interventional radiology, and radiology, across the health system to provide and continually improve health care services and to support the mission and goals of University of Michigan Health (UMH).
The CND is a key partner with medical directors, radiology modality managers, perioperative and procedural leaders across UMH. This person collaborates in the development of budgets and activity forecasts; manages and provides variance reporting of activity, payroll, commodity, and capital budgets, and participates in new program development and implementation.
The CND is responsible for the clinical practice of nursing personnel, nurse staffing, scheduling, and administration of nursing, and provides supervision to clinical personnel. This role serves as the point of administrative and clinical leadership in a designated patient care unit during hours of operation. The CND provides coordination between management and patient care activities that is consistent with institutional goals and objectives, and provides essential coordination between patient care units within the organizational structure of Nursing Services.
