Job Summary

 

We are actively seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, patient-oriented individuals who will share the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, family, and team members to provide exceptional customer service and support in the Breast Imaging Department.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Accurately and efficiently schedule patient appointments utilizing Cadence and coordinating with referring clinic as needed.
  • Schedule patient appointments and procedures in a timely and accurate manner and inform patients of any necessary preparation in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Operate one or more Cisco Finesse scheduling tasks through the entirety of the shift.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and privacy regulations (HIPAA).
  • High intensity patient flow must be compassionate and able to manage stressful situations.
  • Demonstrates customer excellence in answering incoming phones.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Breast Imaging center which could include filling in scheduling openings, callback lists, waitlists, etc.
  • Oversee BI appointments and orders and check them for accuracy.
  • Subject to assist in different areas of the breast imaging department.
  • Cross coverage for PS Assistant and Associate roles
  • Knowledge of Michart in-basket workflows

Required Qualifications*

 
  • High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.                      
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 2 years of experience, including considerable customer service experience
  • Knowledge of ambulatory scheduling workflows
  • Flexible and innovative
  • Experience with Ambulatory Care workflows
  • Adheres to a high standard of personal and professional conduct; possess excellent customer service, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse population
  • Be an active team player with the ability to work independently
  • Advanced clerical skills including proper telephone technique, typing, computer and data entry skills as well as advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting
  • Possess strong organization and prioritization skills; ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Working knowledge of michart is preferred

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • 3-4 years' experience with patient scheduling in Epic. 
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook,
  • Epic/Michart, and Cisco Finesse phone systems

Modes of Work

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

 

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
