Responsibilities*

 
  • Provide culturally sensitive, age-specific team-based care models in delivering nursing care for the Benign & Myeloma oncology patient population and the broader Maize Team.
  • Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care. 
  • Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources. 
  • This RN position is essential in managing clinic flow, patient care needs to include, but not limited to triage/assessment of high acuity patients, therapy education, procedural education, medication administration and management, responding to clinic emergencies, port maintenance, collaboration with multiple disciplines / infusion / scheduling / lab management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills providing patient and family education and reinforcement related to oncologic conditions including, but not limited to, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, oral therapy, infusion, etc.
  • Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation.
     

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan Medicine
  • Minimum three (3) years of oncology RN experience within the last five (5) years
  • Minimum of 12 months of Myeloma & Benign Hematology experience within the last five (5) years

Hourly range for Registered Nurses $41.78-$64.81/ hour

  • Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour
  • Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour

  • Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour

Modes of Work

Work Schedule

 

Hours/Week:

  • 40 hours
     

Shift/Hours/Days: 

  • Day Shift; Monday-Friday, may include Saturdays/Sundays/Holidays in the future if clinic hours expand
  • Hours may be variable (based on patient and volume needs)
     

Location: 

  • Rogel Cancer Center with potential to work in other locations with expansion of division.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
