Job Summary

 

The Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan invites applications for a tenured faculty position (Associate or Full Professor) in the Technology and Operations area, with a research focus on sustainable and resilient semiconductor manufacturing and supply-chain operations. This appointment is part of a major interdisciplinary faculty cluster -- Sustainable Semiconductors for a Secure Future -- that spans the Ross School of Business and the College of Engineering (Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering).

Required Qualifications*

 

The ideal candidate would have research expertise on sustainability (e.g., low-carbon manufacturing, circular economy), supply chain resiliency (e.g., risk assessment, supply chain design), and/or advanced manufacturing (e.g., semiconductor, electronics). We are especially interested in individuals with a track record of interdisciplinary collaboration with engineering, materials, or computer science colleagues; experience translating research through industry partnerships, pilot deployments, or policy engagement; a history of external research funding from federal agencies and/or industry; and experience mentoring a diverse community of students and junior researchers.

Desired Qualifications*

 

Minimum requirements include a doctorate in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field such as Economics, Statistics, or Computer Science, and a record of excellence in business research, teaching, and leadership commensurate with appointment rank.
