THIS IS A FULL-TIME (40 HRS/WEEK) 2-YEAR TERM-LIMITED APPOINTMENT

The Curriculum Research Coordinator will support the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Sexual Citizenship Project curriculum at the University of Michigan. This two-year, term-limited position integrates curriculum design, trauma-informed educational practice, student engagement, program evaluation, and qualitative research to advance a university-wide initiative focused on sexual agency, sexual health education, gender-based violence prevention, and campus culture change.

Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, peer facilitators, and campus partners, the Curriculum Research Coordinator will help ensure curriculum quality, fidelity, accessibility, and responsiveness to evolving student needs. The position requires experience in curriculum development, stakeholder engagement, facilitation support, and qualitative assessment within higher education, prevention education, or related settings.

In addition, the Coordinator will manage operational aspects of curriculum implementation, including project timelines, implementation documentation, scheduling systems, and cross-functional coordination among university stakeholders. The role will also lead the development and enhancement of the Peer Facilitator Program, including facilitator training, supervision structures, and partnerships with campus prevention and wellness organizations.
 

Curriculum Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (35%)

• Coordinate the implementation and ongoing refinement of the Sexual Citizenship curriculum across course sections and program expansion initiatives.
• Maintain curriculum fidelity while incorporating current events, policy developments, emerging research, and student feedback into educational materials.
• Develop, revise, and maintain lectures, facilitator guides, student learning activities, discussion materials, and supplemental educational resources.
• Ensure curriculum content reflects trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and evidence-based educational practices.

• Collaborate with faculty and project staff to assess curriculum effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

   

Peer Facilitator Program Leadership (25%)

• Coordinate onboarding, training, communication, and support systems for peer facilitators in partnership with the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center (SAPAC) and other campus partners.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive Peer Facilitator Guide outlining expectations, classroom practices, facilitation strategies, and student support resources.
• Enhance and expand the Curriculum Enhancement component of the peer facilitator role to increase student engagement beyond classroom facilitation.
• Serve as the primary liaison between peer facilitators, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
• Support the development of training opportunities and collaborative programming related to sexual health, prevention education, and student wellbeing.

Research Integration and Program Evaluation (10%)

• Conduct qualitative analysis of student reflections, focus groups, classroom activities, facilitator feedback, and other project data sources.
• Identify and synthesize themes from student engagement and learning experiences to inform curriculum refinement and program evaluation.
• Collaborate with faculty and research staff to integrate evidence-based practices into curriculum development and educational programming.
• Support ethical and trauma-informed research and evaluation activities, including IRB-related processes and data management procedures.

Stakeholder Engagement and Campus Collaboration (15%)

• Maintain collaborative relationships with campus and community partners, including SAPAC, CAPS, OSCR, the Spectrum Center, the Title IX Office, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication and coordination among lecturers, administrators, peer facilitators, and project partners to support consistent program delivery.
• Assist with integrating Sexual Citizenship programming into broader university initiatives, orientation programs, wellness education efforts, and student affairs partnerships.

Program Expansion and Educational Outreach (15%)

• Support the continued growth and expansion of the Sexual Citizenship Project across the University of Michigan community.
• Develop outreach materials, educational campaigns, and engagement strategies to increase student awareness and participation.
• Assist in the creation of supplemental educational programming, including workshops, booster sessions, reflection resources, and campus-wide events.
• Contribute to dissemination activities, including reports, presentations, publications, and stakeholder communications.
  
   

• Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health, Sociology, Psychology, Higher Education, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in curriculum design, instructional development, educational programming, or related work.
• Experience working within trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, prevention-focused, or health education frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience conducting qualitative research and analysis, including thematic coding, focus group analysis, reflective assignment review, and data synthesis.
• Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders across institutional or community settings.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in collaborative, interdisciplinary environments.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sexual violence prevention, sexual health education, public health programming, Title IX-related initiatives, or student wellness programs.
• Familiarity with institutional review board (IRB) processes, research ethics, and program evaluation methodologies.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or coordinating peer educators, facilitators, or student leaders.
• Experience developing accessible educational materials and adapting curriculum based on assessment findings, student feedback, and emerging social issues.
• Experience working in higher education settings.
