Job Summary

 

The Assistant Director of Admissions will support recruitment, outreach, evaluation, and yield efforts for the Full-Time MBA program, with a focus on engaging prospective students from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Full-Time MBA Admissions, this role will help implement recruitment strategies, represent Michigan Ross at admissions events, build relationships with campus and external partners, and contribute to initiatives that support an inclusive and accessible applicant experience.

This hybrid position is based in Ann Arbor, MI, with an expectation of three days per week on-site and requires occasional early morning, evening, and weekend work. Travel is required, particularly during the peak recruitment season, typically May-November. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain that authorization throughout employment.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Develop and implement recruitment and yield strategies to attract and engage prospective Full-Time MBA students from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and industries.
  • Represent Michigan Ross at domestic and international recruitment events, MBA fairs, virtual information sessions, and diversity-focused outreach programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective students throughout the admissions process, providing guidance and support from inquiry through enrollment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute on-campus, off-campus, and virtual recruitment and admissions events, managing logistics, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with students, alumni, faculty, affinity groups, and external partners to enhance recruitment efforts and create an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Review and evaluate MBA applications, participate in admissions committee discussions, and make recommendations in support of holistic and equitable admissions decisions.
  • Analyze recruitment, event, and engagement data to assess outcomes, inform decision-making, and support enrollment goals.
  • Develop and maintain admissions communications, outreach materials, and digital content to effectively engage prospective students.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, applicant experience, and service delivery.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and team initiatives while supporting compliance with university policies, admissions standards, and best practices.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in admissions, student recruitment, student affairs, higher education, nonprofit/community engagement, corporate recruiting, or a related field. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and supporting inclusive, access-focused, or affinity-based outreach, recruitment, and engagement initiatives.
  • Experience managing projects, events, or programs with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Comfort using data to inform decisions, track engagement, and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office and experience using CRM, email marketing, admissions, or other enterprise systems such as Slate, Salesforce, or similar platforms.

Additional Information

 

Salary Information:

The salary offer range for this position is $53,500 to $66,100. Salary offers are determined based on several factors, including a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, along with internal equity considerations. It is not common for new hires to be placed at the top of the range.
