Job Summary

 

The Department of Mathematics in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan seeks applicants for a Lecturer I position to begin August 25, 2026. The appointment is subject to final approval by the college.

Responsibilities*

 

A typical full-time (100% effort) load for a Lecturer I in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts is three courses per semester. This Lecturer I position will teach two courses in each of the Fall and Winter semesters for a 66.67% effort

Required Qualifications*

 

Qualified candidates will have a doctorate in Mathematics (preferably in Combinatorics) prior to the start date of the position and have substantial experience teaching mathematics at the collegiate level. Criteria for selection include excellence in classroom teaching, and the ability to work productively with faculty and staff in our department.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
