Job Summary

 

 Assisting the research Faculty member by maintaining cell cultures of musculoskeletal cells.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Maintaining cell cultures of musculoskeletal cells.  
  • Determine changes in cell function using assay kits and the role of ion channels in these changes. 
  • Analyze and graph data obtained in experiments.
  • Creating lists of materials needed for the lab.
     

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Must be a UM-Flint Undergraduate Student.
  • Must be recommended by a Biology Faculty member.
  • Expertise in cell culture.
  • Knowledge of microscopic imaging techniques.
  • Successful completion of BSL2 safety training.
  • Familiarity with cell biology.
     

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Experience in Biology and/or Chemistry labs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High level of organization skills
     

Modes of Work

 

Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence.  Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
