The Department of Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences is seeking an Assistant Research Scientist to join our team and contribute to our pioneering research in metallurgy and manufacturing for nuclear applications. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of research projects involving manufacture and investigation of powder metallurgical alloys for nuclear reactor environments.
The role will also involve publishing and presenting research findings in top-tier scientific journals and conferences, participating in instructional activities and course lectures as appropriate, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and serving on dissertation committees.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of developing independent research proposals, and will contribute to the academic and professional community through continuous scholarly activities and collaborations and mentoring and teaching activities with undergraduate and graduate students.
