We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and self-directed Patient Service Intermediate-Template Editor to support operations across our clinics. Responsibilities*

 
  •  Lead the review, approval, and implementation of provider template changes across all Ophthalmology locations, ensuring alignment with Cadence Business Team (CBT) standards, ACOC guidelines, and access optimization goals.
  •  Serve as the primary resource for template governance, including template audits, quality control, provider configuration, visit type mapping, and scheduling integrity.
  • Partner with physicians, clinic leadership, Ambulatory Care Operations, the Call Center, and CBT to standardize scheduling practices and improve patient access.
  • Manage template request workflows, including intake, review, approvals, implementation, and communication of scheduling impacts.
  • Identify and escalate template and scheduling issues that affect access, workflow efficiency, organizational policies, or Epic standards.
  • Collaborate with clinic teams on exam room allocation and clinic expansion requests.
  •  Provide backup support for template editing and scheduling operations as needed.
  •  Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  •  Verify patient demographic, insurance, and appointment information.
  •  Support patient access functions, including appointment scheduling, pre-arrival activities, check-in/check-out, telephone triage, and management of work queues/in-baskets.
  •  Obtain insurance authorizations and support diagnosis review (ICD-10) and billing-related processes.
  •  Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and staff, communicating appointment updates, instructions, and follow-up needs.
  • Provide advanced call center support, including screening, routing, and responding to complex patient inquiries
  •  Assist with payment collection, administrative support, training, and other duties as assigned.

     

Required Qualifications*

 

Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum three years of experience in Ophthalmology.

Desired Qualifications*

 

Three or more years of customer service experience within a medical environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, as well as other databases, e-mail, and calendar-keeping software

Experience with MiChart (Cadence and Reporting Workbench), Credentialed Super User desired

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work with all levels of faculty and staff

Must possess demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, prioritize, manage multiple assignments, and follow through on job responsibilities

Demonstrates ability to collaborate with others in a team environment, display leadership through problem solving and the initiative to advance knowledge

Modes of Work

Background Screening
