? Perform tasks related to the surgical recovery, preservation, packaging, shipping, and disposition of organs and extra vessels intended for transplantation.
? Manage the supply chain and coordination of related processes for the ordering, stocking, sterile processing, maintenance, and preparation for all necessary organ preservation solutions, supplies, materials, instruments, and equipment.
? Manage and ensure adherence to all policies, protocols, and practices overseeing organ preservation, extra vessel disposition, blood samples and tissue typing material management.
? Ensure and manage the proper storage, tracking, disposal, use, and timely final disposition reporting of extra vessels to UNOS.
? Support and advance associated Quality activities, meetings, and initiatives. Complete assigned miscellaneous Transplant Center activities and training.
? Always promote and demonstrate High Reliability Organization principles.
? Maintain effective and respectful communication with all department team members, donor hospitals, surgical teams, and transport personnel.
? Organ preservation needs including but not limited to flushing the donated organs with preservation fluid, sterile packaging, and transportation of donor organs to transplant centers.
? Assist Cardiovascular Perfusion by performing assigned tasks, which include:
o Prepare and set-up Perfusion equipment.
o Assist with Perfusion case activities.
o Assist with Perfusion equipment analysis, preparation, and management.
o Provide support for the Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) program and patient equipment needs related to the VAD patients.
? Accurately maintain documentation in the electronic medical record as well as other systems as needed.
? Assist with and support mentoring and development of other team members.
? Assist with the oversight and training of less senior staff, including adherence to applicable organ preservation policies, protocols, and practices.
? May support program needs, IE Kidney Shared Care program, Audit needs.
? May support Quality improvement or monitoring programs.
