Job Summary

 

We are looking for someone that wants to be a part of the Cardiac Procedures Unit (CPU) at the Frankel Cardiovascular Center as a Business Systems Analyst responsible for oversight of the cardiac device explant tracking process. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to manage the data when devices (pacemakers / defibrillators) are explanted, processed through Pathology and sent to the vendor to determine eligibility for a refund, resulting in processing the payment/refunds through Revenue Cycle. Hospital Compliance will need to receive regular reports to ensure we follow practices consistent with CMS requirements and avoid financial penalties.

In addition, other data management tasks and project management work will be assigned as needed. This is a part-time position . The standard work schedule is 5 (8-hour) days every two weeks, two days one week and three days the second week. Monday through Friday, 7:00 am ? 3:30 pm. Specific schedule to be determined through the interview process.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Manage the Warranty Tracker software and process for tracking device implants and explants
  • Work closely with the Warranty Tracker team including a Pathology, EP leadership, CPU leadership and staff, Compliance and HITS
  • Review, validate and reconcile that new explants and implants are flowing into Warranty Tracker including devices identified in Pathology
  • Process Warranty Tracker cases which include reporting and resolving cases with the device manufacturer via e-mail and vendor websites
  • Provide explant research utilizing MiChart (Epic) and vendor investigation for cases unclear regarding the credit process
  • Continuous improvement and revisions to the credit process for the hospital as required by Compliance including quarterly check-ins
  • Process and update reports with Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Biotronik, and St. Jude
  • Follow up and report outstanding cases not addressed to their respective manufacturers
  • Send a monthly credit report to hospital finance
  • Report status updates on the Warranty Tracker software at monthly meetings with Administrative Director, CPU
  • Compile CPU department statistics
  • Act as a resource for CMS Auditors to review device cases.
  • Share data via power point slides, meetings, dashboard and e-mail
  • Assist the leadership team with project implementations/tracking needs when they arise.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • 3-5 years of medical, procedural or similar experience

  • Computer and data management skills

  • Electronic medical record experience

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting

  • Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills

  • Good investigative skills and strong attention to detail, particularly with numbers

  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's Degree in a clinical field or comparable combination of experience and education

  • Epic MiChart access and/or other electronic medical record experience
  • Cardiology/EP/Device clinical experience
  • Previous project or data management experience

Background Screening
