Responsibilities*

 

Michigan Medicine Ambulatory Care Saline Health Center is dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults and children.  We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, self-driven, patient and team-oriented Patient Services Associate who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, families and employees.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience

     

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • Experience working in a patient care setting.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Experience with Michigan Medicine's electronic medical record system.
  • High school diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education.
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence
  • Welcoming and approachable demeanor with a consistently positive and professional attitude.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated active listening, verbal, written and information technology communication skills.
  • Must be very comfortable working with computers and have a general knowledge of office practices.
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability.
  • Requires flexibility in all aspects of work assignments.

Work Schedule

 

This position is 40 hours/week with variable hours Monday-Friday 6:30am-7:30pm with possible Saturday rotation.

Work Locations

 

Michigan Medicine Saline Health Center, 700 Woodland Drive East, Saline, MI  48176 and Saturday clinic at Michigan Medicine West Ann Arbor, 380 Parkland Plaza, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.

Union Affiliation

 

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

 

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
