The laboratory of Agnieszka Lukaszewicz, in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Michigan Medical School, is seeking a highly motivated senior research laboratory technician. The laboratory studies germline de novo mutations, with a focus on: (1) spectrum of de novo structural and copy number variants at meiotic DNA double-strand breaks in mice and humans, (2) determining molecular mechanisms driving de novo mutations in meiosis, (3) determining the impact of structural variation at recombination hotspots on genome stability.
This is an excellent position for a recent college graduate interested in gaining a few years of research experience before applying to graduate school. The position is thus an excellent opportunity to have regular and direct hands-on training from a PI and determine whether they are interested in pursuing a graduate degree.
The position is heavily focused on laboratory research, with a smaller amount of effort devoted as the lab manager for laboratory support/maintenance.
