Research and scholarly activity may include topics related to nutrition, physical activity, stress management, restorative sleep, social connection, avoidance of risky substances, and other evidence-based strategies to prevent and address chronic disease.   • Participate in all phases of clinical research, including protocol development, IRB submissions and communication, study implementation, and execution.
  • Assist with patient screening, participant enrollment, and data collection under the supervision of clinical faculty and research mentors.
  • Contribute to scholarly work, including manuscript preparation, journal submission, and responses to peer reviewers and editorial feedback.
  • Use electronic data capture systems, such as REDCap, to support accurate and efficient data management; training will be provided as needed.
  • Support research in lifestyle medicine and preventive health, including projects that examine the delivery and effectiveness of preventive education and behavior-change interventions in health care settings.
  • Critically evaluate scientific literature in preventive health and lifestyle medicine using evidence-based medicine principles.
  • Provide limited administrative support for the Clinical Research Program in Lifestyle Medicine and Preventive Health (BIO 494), as needed and at the discretion of the program director, currently Daniel Keyes, MD, MPH.
  • Maintain availability two to three days per week to support collaborative scholarly activity, meetings, and related program responsibilities.
 

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in a relevant field, such as biology, health sciences, public health, or a related discipline.
  • Completion of a clinical research training program such as EMRAP / Clinical Research Program in Lifestyle Medicine is preferred; candidates with substantial clinical research experience outside the program may also be considered.
  • Interest in lifestyle medicine, preventive health, chronic disease prevention, and evidence-based health care is a plus.
  • Familiarity with clinical research procedures and practices, including HIPAA compliance, research ethics, and data analysis, is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to contribute to manuscripts and communicate professionally with journals and collaborators.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Appointment Term Twelve months, beginning August 2026, with the possibility of a short-term extension.
