Job Summary

 

Provide day-to-day operational oversight of multiple clerical teams within the Radiology Customer Service Center in a 24/7 environment. This role supports departmental operations and staff while working under the direction of the department manager.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Support daily operations across multiple areas, including the Customer Service Centers in UH, as well as C&W, the reading rooms in various areas of the main campus, and the 1800 area. 
  • Serve as a point of contact for operational needs, including after-hours and weekend support as needed.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support for staff development and performance. 
  • Monitor attendance and overtime to maintain appropriate staffing levels. 
  • Manage HR related responsibilities, including hiring, onboarding, medical leave coordination, and employee discipline, up to and including termination. 
  • Conduct performance evaluations. 
  • Maintain and update job descriptions, policies, procedures, and resource materials.
  • Support implementation of system updates, workflow changes, and departmental initiatives. 
  • Facilitate and coordinate changes that impact clerical operations. 
  • Manage and respond to and resolve complaints, grievances, and inquiries from patients, staff, and the public. 
  • Submit and follow up on requests for equipment repair and facility-related issues. 
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership and other teams to support efficient operations. 
  • Prepare reports and provide information as requested. 

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Associate's degree in a related health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. 

     

  • Reasonable relevant clinical experience is necessary.

     

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and work independently. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Proficiency in standard office software and systems. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service. 
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to support a 24/7 operation as needed.
  • Participate in on-call coverage, including responding to operational needs after hours and on weekends. 

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience in Radiology and/or University of Michigan Health Systems is preferred. 
  • Experience with MiChart (Radiant), Medicom, and Sectra is preferred.
  • Previous supervision or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of One Note and SharePoint is preferred.
