Under direct supervision, this role provides general administrative and clerical support for the START Office, as well as Health Professions Advising (HPA). This position is the first responder to incoming calls and traffic within the office. This individual maintains and updates office supplies and printed materials and schedules appointments for the professional advisors and the director of HPA. The START Student Services Assistant works within established guidelines regarding planning, organizing, and scheduling of work. This position requires knowledge of advising tools, such as UM-D My Portal, Degree Works and schedule planner. This position will also use various PC software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, and specific University programs such as Banner and Salesforce. The Student Services Assistant will be familiar with resources on campus to provide service to students with questions and concerns and perform all other duties as assigned.
The candidate must be very dependable, have excellent interpersonal skills, and understand appropriate office behavior (experience working in an office setting preferred).
This postion is for a non-student temp. The expected duration of this position is from July 1, 2022- August 31, 2022.
