Job Summary

 

The Inclusive History Project-Dearborn Program is looking for driven individuals to contribute to our research into the diverse histories of the university community. Whether you're just starting your research journey or you're an experienced professional, we have an exciting opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact.

Position Overview: We are seeking enthusiastic candidates to join the IHP-Dearborn team. In this role, you'll work closely with the Director of Research and the Program Coordinator for Digital Humanities on a variety of innovative IHP research initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong passion for humanities research, oral history, and the exploration of inclusive history.

Responsibilities*

 

At the Research Associate II level, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Designing major research or technical projects; assisting in the development of research proposals; selecting equipment and staff; coordinating the conduct of experimental test procedures; performing responsible administrative work, including the supervision of staff. 

Required Qualifications*

 

For the Research Associate II level, successfully applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduated or enrolled in a Ph.D program in any field
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team

Desired Qualifications*

 

For the Research Associate II level, the following criteria is desirable:

  • Demonstrated experience on the UM-Dearborn campus working with culturally diverse public audiences and projects in which community engagement is a key aspect of the work
  • At least 1 year of demonstrated experience performing humanities-based research and/or in-person archival research
  • Demonstrated experience working to support an academic research project
  • Knowledge of or experience with the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer (OHMS), Omeka S, and/or WordPress is a plus
