A Research Lab Technician position is available in the laboratories of Dr. Mark Anderson and Dr. Melanie Pearson, in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, MI. The Anderson and Pearson labs are seeking an individual with a strong microbiology or molecular biology foundation to participate in the collaborative investigation of Escherichia coli pathogenesis during urinary tract infections. The candidate will contribute to research defining the gene expression profile of E. coli during infection and to the broader bacterial pathogenesis research objectives of the investigators. Using genetic approaches, quantitative expression analysis, and culture techniques the candidate will have the exciting opportunity to contribute to advancing our understanding of bacterial virulence and host interactions. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and record keeping skills, be capable of both independent and collaborative work, and possess a reliable work ethic.
