Join us at CAEN, the University of Michigan's Engineering IT Department, where innovation meets education! We are seeking a dedicated professional to serve as our Testing Facility Manager. In this role, you will lead the operations of the College of Engineering's new Engineering Testing Facility (ETF), a new Computer-Based Testing Facility (CBTF) coming to North Campus.
As part of overseeing our testing facility, you will manage all aspects of the facility's day-to-day operations, including exam scheduling, load balancing, and the critical coordination of student accommodations to ensure an equitable testing environment for all students. You will be the expert in the facility's specialized workflows, analyzing and evaluating courses of action to improve operational efficiency and student experience. As part of CAEN, you are part of a deep network of technical experts. While you lead the day-to-day of the facility, you will have access to their expertise to assist with technical issues and concerns.
This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact project from launch through steady-state growth. You will be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising a diverse team of over 20 student staff members who facilitate testing sessions seven days a week. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with faculty advisors, instructional teams, and departments across the University to support the migration of assessments to utilize this facility.
Note on Work Environment: This position is a fully onsite role located on North Campus to ensure the seamless, in-person management of testing operations and staff.
