25% CQI Operations Management
- In a dyad partnership with the CQI Portfolio Finance and Operations Manager, manage the day-to-day operations of the CQI Operations (CQIO) team
- Management of CQIO staff, including, but not limited to, project managers, administrative staff, and the CQIO Communications Manager.
- Responsible for all HR aspects of staff management including hiring, promotion, salary changes, performance coaching, disciplinary actions, training, and development.
- Responsible for delegation of work and direction of workload/deadlines.
- Develop and manage detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and progress reports, including the implementation of both long- and short-range goals and objectives.
- Lead special projects and/or development of new initiatives; identify appropriate team members and resources to complete said project/initiative
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and lead cross-functional special projects and/or develop of new initiatives; identify appropriate cross-organizational team members and resources to complete said project/initiative
- Analyze, compare, and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance within the scope of responsibilities
- Lead the development and submission of multiple deliverables for BCBSM including but not limited to, requests for information, meeting summaries, statements of work, and annual and mid-year progress reports
- Plan and lead regular team meetings
- Present on ongoing projects and deliverables regularly to internal and external audiences
- Provide support for core administrative functions, including coordination, documentation, and operational processes to ensure efficient team operations and effective implementation of work activities.
- Oversee the work of the CQIO communications team and ensure special request deadlines and deliverables are met in alignment with the CQIO statement of work.
25% Portfolio Leadership
- Coordinate and serve as lead facilitator for key CQI portfolio meetings, ensuring agendas are structured, goals are clear, and discussions remain focused and productive.
- Promote standardization of processes, tools, and reporting across CQIs to improve efficiency, clarity, and consistency.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and work collaboratively to implement solutions.
- Provide ongoing portfolio-level support to align initiatives with broader strategic priorities.
- In partnership with the CQIO leadership team, manage organizational changes in response to coordinating center performance, departures, budget austerity, or other changes within the portfolio (e.g., reorganization of coordinating centers, mergers of coordinating centers, closures and changes in leadership).
- Continuous monitoring of portfolio-wide needs, specifically seeking opportunities for operational efficiency, effectiveness, and economies of scale to achieve savings. Where applicable, transition services from decentralized to centralized shared services models without a loss in productivity or quality of deliverables.
- Partner with Michigan Medicine leadership to manage operational change
In collaboration with the CQI Operations (CQIO) leadership team, serve as a point of contact for CQI work and troubleshooting related to departments including Compliance, Legal, Procurement, IT, Data Security, Tech Transfer, ORSP, UM Audit, Faculty Affairs, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, etc.
45% CQI Portfolio Support
Culture
In partnership with the CQI Portfolio Director and the CQI Operations leadership team, design, develop, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives for portfolio culture building, professional development, and opportunities for learning and growth across the CQI Portfolio:
- In partnership with the CQIO team and members of the CQI portfolio, identify cultural improvement and alignment opportunities and develop and implement culture building initiatives
- In partnership with the CQIO team and members of the CQI portfolio organize and lead culture-building activities such as the CQI Leadership Development Program, the CQI Brown Bag Conversations series, an annual ?all-hands? meeting, and other activities
- Develop and implement a strategic approach to building a culture of collaboration and community across the CQI Portfolio
Strategy
In collaboration with the CQI Portfolio Director, the BCBSM Value Partnerships team, the CQIO leadership team, and other key stakeholders:
Provide strategy implementation support by leading, managing, and executing initiatives that advance the CQI portfolio.
Contribute to the development, implementation, communication, and evaluation of the CQI Portfolio Strategic Framework.
- Support and coordinate strategic committees that guide and inform portfolio priorities.
- Support execution of cross-portfolio strategic initiatives, including planning, tracking milestones, and monitoring deliverables.
Data
Responsible for providing strategic oversight and direction for the CQI data strategy and CQI Data Hub, ensuring effective planning, implementation, collaboration, and innovation across partners and stakeholders.
In partnership with the CQIO team and members of the CQI portfolio lead the planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of the CQI data strategy
Oversee strategic collaboration, operational management, and coordination of work contracted to the Michigan Data Collaborative and other partners supporting the Data Hub.
Provide oversight to project managers and business analysts supporting the planning, development, implementation, and ongoing management of the CQI Data Hub.
Facilitate cross-organizational collaboration and communication with leadership, stakeholders, CQI partners, technology vendors, and data partners.
Collaborate with senior and operational leadership across statewide partners and stakeholders (e.g., BCBSM, MiHIN, MDHHS).
Explore and implement strategic innovations to support the continued success and advancement of the CQI Data Hub.
