Oversees and reviews divisional pre-award sponsored research activities required for the submission process. Communicates relevant Sponsored Programs requirements and procedures to faculty. Create systems and procedures to ensure timeliness and first-time quality of proposals. Ongoing review of pre-award process and implementation changes.
Provides functional supervision to the Pre-Award grants management team. Responsible for analysis and distribution of workload among team members ton include performance evaluations, hiring, training.
Maintain proposal workload that includes but is not limited to:
-Review and communication of sponsor instructions for applications
-Preparation of key elements of applications, including the PAF, budget, subcontracts, progress reports, and close-out materials, JIT material, Other support (OS), budget netogotioans with some sponsors, UFA's.
Pre-award administration of the Oncology Research training grant; Proposal development, table reporting. RPPR, interfacing with post-award administrator and Fellowship Program Director.
Communicates with key stakeholders including HemOnc/GM Post-Award team to ensure continuity of sponsored projects, the Grants Administration staff in the Department of Internal Medicine, the Medical School Grants Office, and ORSP. Additionally, this position will interact with the Clinical Trials Support Unit (CTSU) with regard to projects which may be more appropriately processed through that venue.
