This position will serve as the manager for the Clinical Research Specimen Processing (CRSP) Core of the Oncology Clinical Trial Support Unit (O-CTSU) providing biospecimen management to clinical research investigators of the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center - an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).

This position oversees a growing core team of seven staff who provide Rogel investigators support with processing, short-term storage, shipping, and handling of 1500+ research specimens for 100+ clinical trials and studies per month across three locations including Brighton Center for Specialty Care and upcoming Troy Center for Specialty Care. We are seeking a candidate who engages in service excellence and quality; actively demonstrates a commitment to the University of Michigan's core values to build a culture of respect, integrity, and inclusion within the unit; answers complex queries regarding sample data; gains expertise in all areas of sample management and reporting; and instructs staff in established SOPs, lab maintenance, and work aids. The role is also responsible for interviewing, hiring, firing, promotions, training, and mentoring.
