Job Summary

 

Reporting to the Director of Child and Family Care, the Compliance Specialist is an important member of the Child and Family Care team, responsible for safeguarding the operational excellence and funding of our Children's Centers.


You will ensure Center compliance with all internal and external regulations, licensing requirements, and quality standards and maintain eligibility for financial subsidies through detailed oversight. You will build collaborative relationships with Center leadership, University staff, and external regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Translate complex regulations from federal and state regulations and quality standards into clear, applicable guidance for center staff.
  • Manage tracking systems to monitor compliance deadlines, staff requirements, and operational standards.
  • Mitigate risk by drafting inter-departmental procedures and escalating potential compliance gaps to leadership.
  • Lead the application process for licensing renewals, quality certifications, and financial subsidies.
  • Source and secure funding by identifying new grants, stabilization funds, and pilot programs.
  • Oversee reporting and record-keeping to ensure all internal and external data is accurate, timely, and confidential.
  • Foster strategic partnerships with site directors and external regulatory agencies to support continuous improvement and operational quality.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor?s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in education, family service, or a related field, with demonstrated knowledge of best practices for providing care, education or services to children and families.
  • Minimum 1 year experience facilitating compliance management, quality improvement plans, or financial reporting. 
  • Intermediate experience with state or federal regulation structures, compliance reporting, quality improvement plans or funding reporting.
  • Intermediate technical abilities to navigate software platforms and information systems.

Work Locations

 

This is a hybrid position.  Will require travel to multiple locations on & off campus, including North Campus Children's Center, Towsley Children's House, and Health System Children's Center. We expect this role to spend 2-3 days onsite.
