Job Summary

 

The candidate is required to print different plastic/metal materials using 3D printer and test them in a tensile testing machine to obtain the stress-strain curve and fit the data into available hyperplastic models. Also, the candidate is required to use Ansys software for evaluating the new models.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Print different plastic/metal materials using 3D printer  
  • Test prints in a tensile testing machine to obtain the stress-strain curve 
  • Fit the data into available hyperplastic models.  
  • Use Ansys software for evaluating the new models.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Research assistant must be an undergraduate student.
  • Research assistant must have knowledge in using CAD software such as SolidWorks.
  • Research assistant must have knowledge in using Ansys software and 3D printers.


 

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Some knowledge in using ANSYS software and image processing.
  • Mechanical Engineering student preferred.

Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence.  Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
