Job Summary

 

The Department of Biological Chemistry at the University of Michigan Medical School invites applications for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. We seek colleagues whose research brings innovative biochemical, structural, cellular, or computational approaches to uncover molecular mechanisms that impact human health. Our department combines a century-long legacy of biochemical discovery with a forward-looking vision that integrates molecular, cellular, and quantitative sciences, and is dedicated to training the next generation of scientific leaders.

Required Qualifications*

 

Ph.D. and/or M.D., a strong record of research accomplishments, and a demonstrated commitment to mentoring and scientific leadership. Applicants for Associate and Full Professor positions should have a history of impactful research, extramural funding, and contributions to the broader scientific community.

Modes of Work

Background Screening

 

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses. Employment will require both a criminal background check and an institutional reference check regarding any misconduct. Candidates will be required to submit a self-disclosure form as well as an authorization to release information form.
