This position will be filled at the HR title 103691-Business Process Consultant Associate (Non-Exempt) or the HR title 103557-Business Process Consultant Intermediate, depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant. The salary range for the Associate level title is $65,000 - $70,000 and the salary range for the Intermediate level title is $70,000 - $80,000.

Responsibilities*

 

The Office of the Vice President for Research is seeking an experienced, self-directed, and highly motivated individual to assist the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) with the transition of IRB/HRPP application materials to a new Human Research Application system replacing the current eResearch Regulatory Management system. This individual will be a member of the team reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Research - HRPP. Duties will include strategic analysis of IRB and HRPP reports to determine the status and actions for transition for 8000+ IRB applications, application archiving, business process analysis/mapping, documentation, and long-term implementation assistance including processing of IRB applications as indicated. This position will be integrated with overall change management efforts for these system transitions. This full-time position has a competitive salary and full benefits.

Required Qualifications*

 

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Minimum three (3) years of experience in document archival decision-making and tracking, program implementation or business process design.

Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with limited direction.

Demonstrated strength in analyzing, comparing, evaluating, and documenting various courses of action in operational systems.

Demonstrated strength in developing and maintaining relationships with internal team members and University units.

Strong software proficiency (e.g., Microsoft office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Strong technical writing capability.

Desired Qualifications*

 

Demonstrated ability to understand and critically analyze various operational systems, data, and documentation used in research administration.

Experience in quality assurance and program evaluation within a health or education setting.

Familiarity with U-M institutional policies and regulations that apply to human research.

Familiarity with eResearch Regulatory or Proposal Management systems.
