This role is hybrid with on-site expectations in Ann Arbor, MI. You will occasionally work during early mornings, nights, or weekends. Travel is required. Please be prepared to travel up to 30 days per year, with most travel occurring during peak season. (May-November). This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the University Staff United (USU), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment. As the Associate Director, Deferred Admissions Program, you will be a member of the Full-Time MBA Admission Committee. You will report directly to the Director of FTMBA Admissions. In this
role, you will be responsible for launching and scaling Michigan Ross's new Deferred Admissions Program, an early-access pathway for high-achieving college seniors and master's students
to secure admission to the Full-Time MBA program prior to gaining full-time work experience, then deferring enrollment for 3-5 years before matriculation.
 

You will lead the design, execution, and evaluation of outreach, recruitment, selection, and yield strategies for the Deferred Admissions Program, while also serving as a generalist admissions
team member supporting broader Full-Time MBA recruiting and evaluation needs. Your goal is to attract the next generation of world-class, purpose-driven leaders to Michigan Ross and enhance global prestige and academic profile metrics.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies for the Deferred Admissions Program while supporting broader Full-Time MBA recruiting and evaluation efforts
  • Represent Michigan Ross at recruitment events (virtual and in-person), including campus visits, MBA fairs, information sessions, and yield programming
  • Build and manage relationships with U-M partners, feeder schools, and student organizations to strengthen the admissions pipeline
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students and applicants, providing guidance and communication throughout the admissions cycle
  • Evaluate applications and contribute to admissions decisions, including developing and applying selection criteria for candidates
  • Plan and execute recruitment and admissions events, managing logistics, coordinating stakeholders, and enhancing the candidate experience
  • Lead engagement efforts for admitted students, including outreach, programming, and community-building prior to matriculation
  • Track, analyze, and report on recruitment and admissions data to inform strategy and measure program success
  • Collaborate with Admissions leadership, Marketing & Communications, and other stakeholders to align messaging and achieve enrollment goals
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, process improvements, and ensure compliance with University policies and admissions best practices

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of full-cycle admissions experience working with diverse candidate populations, or related experience in higher education or other fast-paced, talent-focused environments, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, including planning, execution, and evaluation.
  • Experience in launching and sustaining new programs
  • Experience in preparing and delivering presentations and communications to various constituents, including senior-level leaders and international audiences
  • Experience with continuous improvement practices
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM/email platforms. Ability to manage data integration and optimize CRM tools for recruitment activities.

Additional Information

 

The salary offer range for this position is $64,000 to $79,000. Salary offers are determined based on several factors, including a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, along with internal equity considerations. It is not common for new hires to be placed at the top of the range.
