Responsibilities*

 

The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to develop and conduct a set of experiments focused on the cellular and molecular biology of aging in mice, organized around drugs that slow mouse aging. He/she will work under the mentorship of Richard A. Miller, Professor of Pathology, the lab director.  The fellow will work with Dr. Miller to develop a research strategy that is expected to lead to new discoveries and publications in peer reviewed journals.  The fellow will be expected to read the research literature, devise experimental procedures, carry out the experiments, analyze the data, and organize the results for oral and written presentations.  They will be expected to participate in and contribute to laboratory meetings and program-wide seminars and journal clubs.  They will have opportunities to drive undergraduate and graduate students and to teach new skills to technicians and other members of the research group.

Required Qualifications*

 

Requires a PhD or equivalent doctoral level degree plus at least two prior years of productive postdoctoral research work in a laboratory specializing in cellular or molecular biology.
