Perform basic cellular and molecular biology techniques including mammalian cell culture, qPCR, protein expression and purification, and immunological techniques such as ELISA and flow cytometry. Apply these functions to animal models and human-derived sample sets from a birth cohort.
Attend and participate in regularly scheduled laboratory meetings and meet individually with the study principal investigator.
Conduct a laboratory project of one?s own: Develop and manage experiments, including determining suitable methods. Interpret and perform complex data analysis and assess experimental outcomes. Develop and maintain a high level of expertise through current scientific literature.
Enhance the laboratory?s repertoire of techniques: Develop or import innovative techniques and experimental systems to meet research program goals, particularly as related to our neuroimmunology work.
