Job Summary

 

We are seeking a Research Technician Lead, for the Multisensory Perception Lab. Our lab investigates how information is integrated among the auditory, visual, and tactile sensory systems to facilitate how we see and hear in the world. We address these questions using behavioral methods and neuroimaging techniques, including EEG, direct neural recordings from patients (electrocorticography), MRI measurements, and lesion studies.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Main researcher responsible for patient testing (20%) and processing clinical data (20%)
  • Main point of contact with the clinicians at Michigan Medicine and Henry Ford Hospital (5%)
  • Develop linguistic and auditory-visual stimuli/experiments for patients (10%)
  • Annotating audio-visual recordings from patients using PRAAT (20%)
  • Supervision of day to day operations of researchers in the lab (10%)
  • Conduct independent research with the expectations for publications (conference poster year 1, journal article submitted in year 2) (15%)

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g., psychology, cognitive science, behavioral economics, or related disciplines).
  • 2 - 3 years-related experience required
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Master's degree is preferred. 
  • Prior lab management experience.
  • Proficiency in experimental design and data collection, especially using Matlab and Psychotoolbox

Modes of Work

Additional Information

This is a 12-month term-limited position with the possibility of renewal. The anticipated start date is May 1st, 2026.
