The Michigan Alzheimers Disease Center (MADC) is seeking a Research Area Specialist Associate (RAS; Associate-level) for its Data Management and Statistical Core (DMSC). Hours are full time, 40 per week, Monday-Friday. This is a hybrid position requiring two days per week of in-office work at the Michigan Alzheimers Disease Center, 2101 Commonwealth Blvd, Suite D, Ann Arbor, MI, where there is free staff parking on site.
The DMSC at the MADC is the key integrator Core, serving other Cores and researchers external to the MADC primarily by maintaining the highest degree of data integrity to submit to the National Alzheimers Coordinating Center (NACC), combining datasets to answer research questions and enhance business processes, and assisting students, staff, and faculty with their research projects.
We are seeking an experienced, positive, highly motivated, organized, autonomous person with excellent multi-tasking ability and record-keeping skills to work with principal investigators and other research team members to accurately and efficiently carry out a range of tasks associated with a variety of research studies. The candidate will be able to operate in a semi-independent manner to assist in clinical research and related projects.
The successful candidate in this position will demonstrate exceptional organization, verification, and finalization of HIPAA-protected data, understand and enact the importance of data protection with the highest degree of respect for persons data, and enhance the efficiency of existing protocols within the DMSC. On a regular basis, they will also have excellent communication with technical and non-technical students, staff, and faculty, regarding solving their data-related queries (e.g., providing applicable information on where a participant is in their study process as allowed by the Institutional Review Board).
