You will provide program leadership in a comprehensive and fast-paced career services office with duties related to a variety of career development and student maturation issues, including self-discovery and reflection, understanding the world of work, experiential learning, advanced education, and job and internship search issues.

Career Advising/Programming (50%)

• Advise and coach students through individual appointments, group workshops, and presentations on a wide range of career development topics, including educational pathways, experiential learning opportunities, and job/internship search strategies.
• Develop and leverage expertise to effectively educate students on accessing and using career, educational, and experiential learning resources relevant to their goals.
• Utilize online career management systems to schedule advising appointments, record engagement notes, and ensure seamless student support.
• Design and deliver engaging presentations, including panel discussions, to reach diverse student audiences across multiple platforms (in-person and virtual).
• Assess program outcomes by collecting and analyzing feedback and data to inform continuous improvement and ensure that career programming meets student and institutional needs.
• Maintain expert knowledge of legal, regulatory, and ethical guidelines (such as affirmative action, EEOC standards, FERPA, and current hiring practices), ensure compliance, and educate students and colleagues as appropriate.
• Uphold strict confidentiality when handling student records, advising notes, and sensitive information, in accordance with institutional and regulatory guidelines.
• Cultivate a specialized area of expertise within the office and serve as an internal resource, keeping abreast of trends and best practices in career development.

Employer Relations/Campus Recruiting Management (40%)

• Collaborate as part of a team to plan, develop, implement, and oversee key aspects of the College of Engineering's Campus Recruitment Program, enhancing employer engagement and recruitment outcomes.
• Consult with and advise employer partners on effective college recruitment strategies, leveraging independent analysis and professional judgment to help organizations build a meaningful and productive campus presence.
• Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective employers, fostering partnerships that create robust opportunities for students.
• Proactively identify and pursue new employment opportunities by researching and prospecting within industry, government, and non-profit sectors to expand available internships, co-ops, and job postings for students.
• Address and resolve recruitment-related issues raised by employers and students, applying knowledge of EEO/Affirmative Action policies and relevant employment regulations to ensure fair and lawful practices.
• Utilize recruiting software and technology platforms to manage employer communications, coordinate job postings, schedule campus interviews, and maintain engagement data.
• Support and coordinate recruitment-related events, including on-campus interviews, employer recruitment sessions, career fairs, and networking receptions throughout the academic year.
• Advocate for fair hiring practices and creating welcoming opportunities for all students.

Internal/External Relations (5%)

• Establish and nurture strong collaborative relationships with university departments, academic units, faculty, and staff to support integrated career services and programming.
• Engage with student organizations to ensure career programming meets diverse student needs and interests, and to foster active student participation in career development initiatives.
• Build and maintain productive partnerships with employers as well as internal and external constituents, facilitating mutually beneficial connections between campus and the broader professional community.
• Represent the career services office during campus and external meetings, events, and committees, advocating for student career success and staying informed of institutional priorities.
• Leverage collaborations to expand resources, enhance experiential learning opportunities, and support innovative approaches to career development.

Data Management/Benchmarking/Reporting (5%)

• Manage continuous improvement efforts by systematically collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to inform program decisions and service enhancements.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of student and employer interactions, program participation, and outcomes using computerized data management systems.
• Prepare clear, concise written reports to communicate engagement metrics, program outcomes, and growth opportunities to colleagues and campus stakeholders.
• Monitor trends and innovations in the career development and employer relations field, identifying best practices and new approaches that support the office's mission and maintain its premier status.
• Utilize benchmarking data to assess current services, compare with peer institutions, and pinpoint areas for innovation and improved service delivery.

• Master's Degree or a combination of Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 years of related experience. Degree in student affairs, business, human resources, or related field
• Experience in program administration, career advising, employer relations, student services, marketing, and/or development
• Strong attention to detail, effective organizational and interpersonal skills, and excellent written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information gathered during the performance of assigned tasks
• Knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining flexibility and willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Proven commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in career services, recruiting, or related fields.

• Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience. 
• Experience developing and implementing student programs.
• Skills in planning and facilitating seminars and workshops.
• Familiarity with online recruiting and CRM systems.
• Prior work experience in career services, talent acquisition, or human resources.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced, and customer-focused office.
