Responsibilities*

 
  • Maintain space assignments, update floor plans, manage requests regarding space assignments. 

  • Ensure correct usage and occupancy in departmental space. 

  • Manage internal requirements regarding construction and renovation projects and provide coordination with facilities and building personnel. 

  • Manage routine work order requests related to building maintenance.

  • Coordinate installation of phones, furniture, and equipment.

  • Support facilities responses and adherence to regulatory requirements from CAP, CLIA, TJC, AABC, and others.

  • Mange setup and closeout of laboratories ensuring proper safety guidelines are followed.

  • Manage ID badge and key requests.

  • Manage property disposition processes. 

  • Coordinate utility shutdowns.

  • Serve as the liaison with facilities and building groups and serve as departmental point of contact for all facilities issues.

  • Coordinate with Pathology's purchasing group to assign and track equipment.

  • Complete annual space survey

  • Complete bi-annual equipment inventory

  • Analyze, compare and evaluate space and facility requests and provide recommendations to management.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications*

 

Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in facility management, space planning, and space management is necessary. Excellent oral and written communication. Detail oriented and meticulous documentation skills.  Ability to analyze, compare and evaluate courses of action with minimal supervision. Must be able to walk multiple miles each workday and be able to move equipment and furniture up to 25 pounds.

Desired Qualifications*

 

Experience with M-Pathways, MGIS, M-Stat, and Microsoft Office suite. Bachelor's degree preferred. Familiarity with University purchasing, space allocation/survey, and laboratory processes preferred.

The Department of Pathology is home to a space footprint of nearly 300,000 square feet in dozens of buildings, housing nearly 200 faculty and 900 staff in both clinical and research roles, and thousands of equipment items, and is seeking a well-qualified candidate to steward the occupant, inventory, and facility needs of its total space and capital equipment portfolio. 

Background Screening
